Disney California Adventure Height Requirements: Every Ride Listed

Height requirements at Disney California Adventure range from 32 inches at the low end to 48 inches for the tallest coasters. Most of the park is accessible to younger or shorter guests -- only 10 of roughly 18 attractions have a hard minimum. Here is a full breakdown by threshold.

No Height Requirement (All Guests Welcome)

These rides and attractions have no height minimums. Anyone can board, though some have lap restraints that require a minimum size to close properly -- cast members will check.

32 Inches (81 cm) Minimum

• Mater's Junkyard Jamboree -- children under 7 must be accompanied by a rider 14 or older

40 Inches (102 cm) Minimum

This is the most common threshold in the park. Hitting 40 inches unlocks nearly all the headline attractions.

• Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! -- randomized drop tower set to rock classics

• Jumpin' Jellyfish -- gentle drop tower, good starter for kids near 40"

42 Inches (107 cm) Minimum

• Grizzly River Run -- raft ride through a mountain with drops; you will get wet; free short-term lockers at the entrance
• Goofy's Sky School -- wild mouse-style coaster with tight turns; 42-inch minimum

48 Inches (122 cm) Minimum

• Incredicoaster -- full-size roller coaster on Pixar Pier, the park's fastest and tallest ride; 48 inches is strictly enforced
• Pixar Pal-A-Round (Swinging) -- same Ferris wheel but gondolas slide back and forth; no height minimum

Tips family guide Near the Thresholds

Rider Swap is available. If one child does not meet a height requirement, one adult can wait with them while the other rides, then they swap without going back in the standby line. Ask any cast member at the attraction entrance.

Bring a backup measurement. Cast members measure at the entrance, not at the boarding area. If your child is borderline, wear their shoes to the park -- shoes count. No platform shoes or hair stacking though.

The magic number is 40 inches. Once your child clears 40 inches, they can ride most of the park -- Goofy's Sky School (42") and Incredicoaster (48") are also out of reach. Plan the day around that ride if it is the one your kid is fixated on.

WEB SLINGERS has no minimum. This is one of the best wins for families with toddlers -- it is genuinely fun for adults and has zero height restriction. Same with Toy Story Midway Mania.
