The History of Galaxi

Galaxi was one of the small steel coasters that helped fill Kings Dominion in its earliest years. It opened with the park in 1975 and ran until 1983.

An opening-year ride

Galaxi was a compact steel coaster, one of roughly fifteen attractions the park opened with in 1975. Built by the SDC company, it was a mass-produced model of the kind found at parks and fairs of the era, offering a modest, twisting ride rather than a headline thrill. It operated until 1983, when it was closed and dismantled following a fatal accident in September of that year.
